  Coffee Tables

My work expresses the beauty of wood in the forms of coffee tables and wall sculptures. It is influenced by a million pieces of this world, from Frank Lloyd Wright, to the Japanese Ikebana, to the colors of our fabrics. I mixed color dies in the textile industry and matched colors in the corporate art world.

The oil and polyurethane finish enhances the natural colors, textures and grain of the woods, which come from all over the planet. One of the most important things I do is choose the right woods for each piece.

My shop is not highly automated. Simple joints like halflap, spline and rabet are used. It is my patient creative relationship with the wood and my feel for the visually unique that enables intriguing results.
